7 septembre 2010 | The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade is studying the rise of Russia, China and India as in the new global economy these three countries have significant implications for Canada's future prosperity. The Committee members have already visited Russia and China. To complete the study the members are now on a fact-finding mission in India. We will be visiting three cities: New Delhi (the capital of India), Hyderabad, and Mumbai (the financial Centre of India).
31 août 2010 | Beaucoup de gens l’ignorent, mais je suis la fille d’un homme politique. Mon père a été membre du Parlement, en Ouganda, pendant près d’une décennie. D’aussi loin que je me souvienne, j’ai baigné dans la culture politique, et jusqu’à ce jour, je remercie mon père d’avoir nourri l’intérêt pour la politique que j’ai développé lorsque j’étais jeune. Les aptitudes que j’ai acquises et les leçons que j’ai apprises aux côtés de mon père me servent encore aujourd’hui.
20 août 2010 | Le navire rempli de migrants tamouls qui est arrivé en Colombie-Britannique la semaine dernière pose un dilemme intéressant, qui fait ressortir les questions épineuses que soulève la politique d’immigration du Canada. Les 490 Tamouls ont voyagé à bord du navire pendant quatre mois dans des conditions précaires.

The highlight of the pre-trial that took place on Monday August 9th was the judge ruling that confessions Khadr made during his detention as well as the video of him constructing IED’s would be admitted into evidence.
19 août 2010 | The long form census is critical to getting reliable information on any number of important social groups and issues. It is this data that helps to analyze, for example, the needs of seniors, health concerns facing different groups of Canadians, the funding for francophone groups and the particular needs of certain immigrant groups. Of course, if we do not have this data, then how do we define these groups and their needs?
